NSNs and this catalog
What is an NSN?
A National Stock Number is the 13-digit number the U.S. government and NATO use to identify an item of supply — for example 2530-01-179-7589. The first four digits are the Federal Supply Class (2530 is vehicular brake, steering, axle, wheel and track components). The remaining nine are the National Item Identification Number, which begins with a two-digit country code: 00 and 01 are the United States.
What is the difference between an NSN and a part number?
A part number belongs to one manufacturer; an NSN belongs to the item. Several manufacturers' part numbers can cross-reference to the same NSN, and every part page here lists the ones the federal catalog records. You can search this site by either, and we quote against either.
Where does the information on a part page come from?
The item name, supply class and part-number cross-references come from the public federal catalog (FLIS / PUB LOG). The quantity, condition and price are SECO's own. SECO is not affiliated with the U.S. Government or any original manufacturer; part numbers are shown for identification only.
Is the quantity shown really in stock?
Yes. Every one of the 89,760 parts in this catalog is on SECO's own shelf in Augusta, GA — we are a stocking supplier, not a broker listing other people's inventory. Counts are refreshed from our inventory system every week, so stock can move between refreshes; your quote confirms the quantity.
Why do some parts show a price and others say “quote”?
A price means the part is photographed and listed on our online store for card checkout — the link takes you straight to it. Everything else is quoted, normally the same business day.
How do I find parts for one vehicle?
Start from a platform page — for example HMMWV parts — and narrow by class. A part is listed there when its name, our description or its store listing names the vehicle, so not everything that fits appears; searching by NSN or part number covers the rest.
Quoting and paying
How do I request a quote?
Add parts to your quote list from any part page, or paste a whole requisition — NSNs, part numbers and quantities — into the quote page in one go. Quotes are answered within one business day, usually the same day, with the NSN and part number on the paperwork.
Do you accept purchase orders and government purchase cards?
Yes. We take purchase orders from government and established commercial accounts, government purchase cards (GPC) and major credit cards. Our CAGE code is 1JUW8.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes: $50 for orders shipping within the U.S. and $200 for international orders.
Do you sell to individuals and restorers?
Yes. Owners and restorers buy from the online store by card, or request a quote here like anyone else. The same minimums apply.
Condition
What do the condition codes mean?
The condition is stated on every line and you choose it at quote time. New is unused, as made. New Surplus (often called NOS) is unused stock released from government or contractor inventory — new, though it may have been in storage and its packaging can show age. Overhauled is a used part rebuilt to serviceable condition. Serviceable is used, inspected and ready to install. As Removed came off a vehicle and has not been rebuilt; ask us what we know about it.
Can I require a particular condition?
Yes. Say so in the quote request — new only, for instance — and we quote only stock that meets it. Surplus items are inspected before shipment.
Shipping, export and returns
How fast do you ship?
The same day when we can. Most orders leave within 1–3 business days, and weekend orders usually ship by Tuesday. Large or awkward items need crating and can take 7–14 days.
How does freight work?
Freight ships to a commercial address or to a terminal for pickup; residential freight delivery costs extra. Ask for a freight quote before ordering — it is cheaper to settle first. If actual shipping exceeds our estimate, we invoice the difference or let you cancel.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, with a $200 minimum. Some parts require an export license: we apply for it and tell you when one is needed. The license fee is $100, waived on orders over $650.
Why is a part marked for U.S. domestic sale only?
Some items are export-controlled. Those ship to U.S. addresses only, are quoted rather than sold through card checkout, and we may ask what the part will be used for before quoting.
What if the part is wrong, damaged or does not work?
Call 706-798-7500 or email sales@secoglobal.com and we will correct it. If it arrived damaged, keep the boxes and packing so we can claim against the carrier.
What is your return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days; a 30% restocking fee applies, and electrical items are generally not returnable. Cancellations cost 5% (card fees are not refunded to us), or 10% once a part has been pulled and packed — and nothing if we cannot supply.
Your request and your information
How do I check on a quote request?
The acknowledgement email carries a status link. It opens only after you enter the email address the request was made with, so a forwarded link shows nothing to anyone else.
What do you do with my contact details?
Use them to price the parts and reply to you — nothing else. The privacy notice says what is collected, where it goes and how long it is kept.
How do I reach a person?
Call 706-798-7500 or email sales@secoglobal.com — Monday to Thursday 8:00–5:00 and Friday 8:00–4:30, Eastern. Questions about an order come to the same number and mailbox as everything else; there is no separate support queue. More about the company is on the about page.
